Foods That Burn Fat Fast – What Are They?
Friday, November 5th, 2010Foods That Burn Fat Fast – What Are They?
Foods that burn fat fast – what’s the story? If there are such foods out there, then why aren’t family doctors and nutritionists sharing that tidbit of information with their overweight patients? I mean, other then grapefruit, has any healthcare professional ever informed you that you could burn fat fast simply by eating the right foods the right way?
I went to a weight loss clinic about a little over a year ago, and I’ll tell you truthfully, I got fantastic results for the two months I stuck with it. Of course, they didn’t bring up anything on the subject of foods that burn fat fast. I did lose 25 lbs. in those two months, but it did in fact include taking three prescribed diet pills a day, a few of times a day, and I kept my calories to 1000 or less a day as well. And yes, I used video workouts like Tae-Bo and Power90 (the original) too.
It was actually pretty easy as long as I stayed on the prescription diet pills, but alas, they weren’t something I could continue to use for very long. You see, the longer I took them, the more short-tempered I got and the more aggressive my behavior became. To tell you the truth, I think I frightened my two kids a little bit. I know I scared myself. So I stopped going to that clinic and I quit taking the pills. I would truly have appreciated being made aware that there were natural alternatives like foods that burn fat fast.
Okay, what are these foods, and why should you believe that there are foods that operate with your body to help you remain fit and at a weight that is healthy for you? Really, if you look at how the universe works, at the way all of creation operates beautifully and in a very delicate balance, it make sense that you were created to work efficiently as well. It’s only that with so many modern conveniences like pre-packaged foods made to be ready in just 2 minutes, our bodies have sort of gotten outta wack just a tad.
Let me prove to you that your body works in conjunction with the amount of food you consume each day. Have you ever been on a really reduced calorie diet? In the beginning, you genuinely start to drop some pounds. Then, all of a sudden, your weight loss slows and then comes to a grinding halt! Why is that? Well, it’s because your body was accustomed to burning the amount of calories you previously ate before you went on this “starvation” diet, and so in the beginning, putting in less calories meant burning more calories than you were consuming.
But here’s the “catch 22″, and the proof. As soon as your body adjusted to the current quantity of calories being taken in, your metabolism adjusted accordingly. To put it another way, your body started burning calories in response to the new amount being consumed. Less calories in, fewer calories being burned by your body. That’s where those pesky little “plateaus” come into play in your diet. And slash the calories back too much, and your body begins to panic a little and begins to essentially store more calories as fat as a matter of self preservation. If you’ve ever been on one of those kinds of diets, than you know exactly what I’m talking about.
So about those foods that burn fat fast. What kinds of food do that, anyway? *They’re called catabolic foods, and according to Dr. Jeremy E. Kaslow, M.D., F.A.C.P. and F.A.C.A.A.I., these foods burn more calories than they supply, which is pretty cool if you ask me. An example of a catabolic food would be the old standby apple. According to Dr. Kaslow and those who subscibe to the catabolic foods theory, although a medium sized apple has approximately 85 calories, your body would need 99 more calories in order to metabolize it. So when you eat an apple, you are in point of fact burning more calories than you are consuming for a general loss of calories, or negative calorie effect.
Dr. Kaslow also says that consuming about 10 servings of catablolic foods a day would help to simply maintain your weight. You can also add proteins and other carbs in moderation (you need to make wise choices here) without gaining weight.
*Of course, there’s a lot of disagreement among professionals as to whether these foods actually have a “negative calorie effect” when you eat them. Nevertheless, true or not, there is a tad bit more to it than simply eating fast fat burning foods, ie: catabolic foods, among others, in order to in fact lose weight. Things like using foods in the right combinations and at the right times, because there are, in actuality, foods that stimulate your body to either burn fat or store fat. Which ones do you want to be eating?
That’s the reason you need to do some additional research and get the the whole story from those who have developed successful plans based on these scientific principles. The bottom line is, you should find the healthy eating plan that works for you.
